Malta selects their Representative for Eurovision Young Dancers!

It’s still early days for Eurovision Young Dancers 2017, but Malta has already selected their representative for the competition to be held in the Czech Republic later this year. The talented Denise Buttigieg was selected through a final of 10, judged by a professional jury.

Maltese broadcaster PBS received a total of 18 submissions, 10 of which continued through to the final. The selection took place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, where each of the 10 finalists took to the stage to perform a 2 minute act. The jury consisted of Alison White, Annalise Ellul and Brigitte Gauci Borda.

About Denise Buttigieg

Denise is currently a dancer at Naupaca Dance Factory, which she has been a part of since the age of 9. She has played major roles in the productions put on by Naupaca, including Alice’s Adventures Underground, The Dream, The Death of Snow White, Immaculate and Divina and After. In these productions, she has worked alongside various international artists.

The talented dancer has won 2 scholarships abroad, and participated in workshops abroad. She has also won the MIDCE teen contemporary solo competition back in 2015. Her most recent BTDA exam is the Advanced Foundation in Jazz, which she passed with a Platinum Distinction last year.
